PS5 Controller Not Charging: Causes & Fixes
Fix a DualSense that won't charge or charges very slowly.
Check the cable and port
Try a different USB-C cable and a different port. The PS5 front USB port is a common failure point — try the rear ports.
Rest mode charging
If the controller only charges while the console is on, enable USB power in rest mode: Settings → System → Power Saving → Features Available in Rest Mode.
Clean the USB-C port
Pocket lint packs into the USB-C port and stops the plug seating fully. Remove it gently with a wooden toothpick.
Battery or board failure
If the controller charges but dies instantly, the battery is worn out. If it won't charge at all on any cable, the charging board may need repair.
