PS5 Controller Battery Draining Fast? How to Fix It
Extend DualSense battery life and know when the battery needs replacing.
Reduce battery drain
Lower the light bar brightness, reduce trigger effect intensity, and set the controller to turn off after 10 minutes in PS5 Settings → Accessories.
Mute the speaker
The built-in speaker and haptics use significant power. Lowering controller speaker volume in settings adds noticeable playtime.
Charge correctly
Use the console's USB port or a certified dock. Cheap fast chargers can degrade the battery faster.
When to replace the battery
If a full charge lasts under 2 hours, the 1560 mAh battery is worn. Replacement batteries are cheap and swapping takes about 10 minutes with a small screwdriver.
