Controller Vibration Not Working: How to Fix It
Restore rumble on PS5, Xbox and third-party controllers.
Test vibration
Use the vibration test on our Gamepad Tester page. If the motors spin there, the hardware is fine and the issue is in game settings.
Check game and system settings
Many games have a vibration toggle. On PS5, check Settings → Accessories → Controllers → Vibration Intensity. On Xbox, check the controller profile in the Accessories app.
Update firmware
Xbox controllers especially can lose rumble after a buggy firmware update. Update or re-flash via the Xbox Accessories app.
Hardware failure
If one side rumbles and the other doesn't, a rumble motor or its solder joint has failed. Motors are cheap and replaceable with basic soldering.
